Canon 7D late September 2009

The only thing i'm really concerned with are the video specs...here we go:

Video Specs
24/25/30 fps at 1080p
50/60 fps at 720p
external mic
full manual controls
in-camera editing options
HDMI out

Looks enticing to me at a rumored $1699 price tag. What to do.... Panasonic's GH1 or this?

Incredible fan video in CG

This is some of the best work I've seen on vimeo. This is actually a ton better than the official video for the song.

New PS3 ad: GAME FACE

Here's a clever ad for the new PS3 slim. I love the use of synced to action sound effects to enchance this piece in a "video gamish" way without having a diagetic track of video game music/effects.

8112 Movie Review - Ponyo

I had the pleasure of seeing Legendary visionary Hayao Miyazaki's latest film, Ponyo, this past friday, with high hopes. I must say that this movie really exceeded my expectations. With a new "drawn" animation style this films artistic direction was superb. All Miyazaki movies are top notch animation but this was refreshing. The story was everything you could expect from a Miyazaki film, unique, touching, deep, and fun at all the same time. I highly recommend this movie for kids and adults. Unlike American kids movies, where comedy is relied upon to entertain parents or adults, Miyazaki's films spark the imagination of any age.

Music Videos We like!

directed by Romain Gavras. With dance tracks like this you really need to have a video that moves the viewer along through the repetitiveness of the song. I think this video is very successful and it gets extra points in my book for doing this on a low budget. It has a quirkiness to the setting and characters involved that gives it charisma.

Music Videos We like!

2nd installment of "MUSIC VIDEOS WE LIKE!"
Coldplay - Life in Technicolor ii
Directed by Douglas Wilson

This video starts out looking like another one of those;lets make the band a bunch of puppets and shoot a cheap music video ala some early michel gondry stuff; but it proves to be a fun, entertaining, and quirky video that we definitely like!

Adeler Jewelers

We had the pleasure of interviewing the family that runs Adeler Jewelers in Great Falls, Virginia, yesterday. We played around with handfuls of rare pearls and gems and ancient roman, greek, and biblical coins. It was fascinating! Adeler Jewelers is family owned for 3 generations and all their pieces are custom and unique. They are great people that take very good care of their customers so If you're in the area and like jewelry pay them a visit, its worth it.
